Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro lead nominations for Premios Tu Música Urbano
Puerto Rican singers Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro and Colombian J Balvin lead the list of nominees in the third edition of the Tu Música Urbano Awards, the Telemundo television network announced on Thursday.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live for the first time on Telemundo on Thursday, June 23 from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, the birthplace of reggaeton.
Bad Bunny earned twelve nominations, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “Yonaguni,” as well as Concert/Tour of the Year for “El Último Tour del Mundo” and Best Social Artist, according to a statement from Telemundo.
He is followed with eleven nominations by Rauw Alejandro, proposed for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year with “Todo De Ti” and Concert/Tour of the Year for “Vice Versa Tour“, among others.
Also competing for Artist of the Year is J Balvin, with ten nominations, including Song of the Year twice thanks to his songs “In Da Getto” and “Qué Más Pues?”
For her part, the Colombian Karol G obtained nine nominations, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year-Female Artist for “KG0516” and Concert / Tour of the Year for “Bichota Tour”.
Argentina’s María Becerra also has nine nominations, competing for Album of the Year-Female Artist with “Animal” and in the Video of the Year-New Artist category with “Entre Nosotros Remix“, “Wow Wow“, “Miénteme” and “Marte “.
Other main nominees are Anuel AA, with nine; Jhay Cortez, Myke Towers and Ozuna, with eight each; El Alfa and Farruko, with seven, and Becky G, Jay Wheeler, Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavárez, Maluma, Rosalía and Sech, with six.
The public vote for the nominated artists begins today and will be open until June 1, according to the rules of the awards, which have 34 categories.
The Tu Música Urbano Awards were first held in 2019 to honor the growing urban movement, which has spread across the globe and broadened its reach by merging with other genres.
