This year’s 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards was held at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday, June 2. The evening was hosted by world renowned film director John Waters. The CFDA Fashion awards’ is a night dedicated to honoring the special individuals who make contributions to the fashion industry in America. This is not a televised event but is viewable on the web only on www.cfda.com.
Seems like the hottest topic of the night was the gown Rihanna arrived in! In typical Rihanna fashion, the superstar showed up in an ultra-sheer fishnet gown, embellished with over 230,000 Swarovski crystals. Adam Selman, Rihanna’s long-time collaborator, is the designer for her most talked about look to date.

Menswear Designer of the Year: Maxwell Osborne & Dao –Yi Chow for Public School.
Accessories Designer of the Year: Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row.
Fashion Icon Award: Rihanna.
Womenswear: Shane Gabier & Christopher Peters for Creatures of the Wind.
Menswear: Tim Coppens.
Accessory Design: Irene Neuwirth.
Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Tom Ford.
Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert: Bethann Hardison.
Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard: Paul Cavaco.
International Award: Raf Simons of Christian Dior.
Board of Directors’ Tribute: Ruth Finley.
