The delivery of the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2022 will arrive this Thursday, September 29 at 7 pm.
The show, which will be hosted by Jaime Camil and Kate del Castillo, will be broadcast live on Telemundo, the entertainment channel Universo and all social networks from the Watsco Center in Coral Gables.
The night will kick off with a special from the red carpet by Giselle Blondet, Rodner Figueroa, Alix Aspe and Carlos Adyan.
Then it’s time for an extensive ceremony where for the first time José Feliciano will receive the Billboard Legend Award and the Billboard Icon Award will be presented to Chayanne, the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award to Christina Aguilera, the Billboard Hall of Fame Award to Nicky Jam and the Billboard Artistic Career Award to Raphael.
The list of the main nominees is headed by Bad Bunny (23), Karol G (15), Becky G (11), Farruko (11), Rauw Alejandro (10), Aventura (7) and Eslabón Armado (6), who compete in the 58 categories within the genres of Latin Pop, Tropical and Regional Mexican. Among other novelties, the presentation of Caliber 50 stands out with the premiere of the television version of El Mexicano es ca…; Camilo’s with the theme that Telemundo will use during its coverage of the World Cup, and Chayanne’s with the world premiere of Como tú y yo.
For her part, Christina Aguilera will interpret her response to the classic El rey, by José Alfredo Jiménez, with her ranchera La Reina.
Then Elvis Crespo will pay tribute to the great success of his song Suavemente, which includes his merengue version of La neverita; Armed Link will interpret Until death; of his new album Nostalgia.
Farruko will perform the world premiere of the remix of her hit Nazareno, and will also present a preview of what will be her next single, Viaje.
Afterwards, Grupo Firme will perform Ya supérame and then will join Camilo in Alaska, their first collaboration. But that is not all. With a Mexican and Colombian flavor, Los Ángeles Azules and Carlos Vives will join forces for the television premiere of Cumbia del corazón; Maluma will surprise all his followers with the world premiere in June, which will debut with his live performance and will only be available on platforms after his participation in the show.
Manuel Turizo will sing his hit La Bachata, which reached number one on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart.
Nicky Jam will premiere Sin Novia and later Ozuna will do the same with the premiere of his new single La copa, to make way for Pepe Aguilar with Hasta que el alba arrives, from his new album A la measure. Then Piso 21 and Manuel Turizo will present the premiere of Los cachos and Tini will premiere Carne y bone.
In a tribute to Raphael, the Spanish star will be accompanied by Alejandra Guzmán, Pablo López, CNCO and Ángela Aguilar in a medley of his greatest hits that includes My Big Night, Being in Love, Like I Love You, Who Knows Nobody and Escándalo. In addition, the winner of the Billboard Artistic Career Award will surprise everyone with the world premiere of the song From So Many People.
