The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) honored on the night of Tuesday one of the founders of urban music, Daddy Yankee, with the important Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award, in an elegant ceremony held in the San Juan Hotel, in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
The urban icon received the prestigious award from the hands of its musical godfather, DJ Playero, which made of the moment a very emotional one.
Daddy Yankee recalled to the audience of the twenty-seventh installment of the ASCAP Latin Music Awards the beginnings of both, when they shared the desire to create something new without knowing then the great movement that reggaeton raised worldwide.
said the artist, who currently heads the global list of most reproductions in the Youtube platform with its new song Con Calma.
Daddy Yankee did not say goodbye without first reiterating his exhortation to youth to believe in themselves to make possible a social transformation.
