Five Latins Nominated For 2013 American Music Awards

The 2013 American Music Awards nominations were announced today by Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am for the first time in New York City at “Good Morning America” and BB Kings Blues Club & Grill in Times Square.

Of the twenty two categories one honors Latin music – Favorite Latin Artist – with nominees being American-Puerto Rican salsa singer Marc Anthony and two American-Dominican bachata singers Prince Royce and Romeo Santos. All three were born and raised in New York.

Two additional Latins were nominated – Bruno Mars of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent has three nominations including Artist of the Year and Miguel of Mexican and African descent has one nomination.

For the seventh year in a row, the American Music Award winners will be determined by online voting that started today. Fans can vote at the Coca-Cola AMA voting siteamavote.com and via twitter after vote is placed onamavote.com.

The 2013 American Music Awards celebrating its 41st anniversary will be broadcast live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 24 starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT on ABC. Tickets can be purchased online www.axs.com or calling 1-888-929-7849.
