One of the most successful, popular and loved Latin couple in the music industry and business world have another endeavor to pursue. Gloria and Emilio Estefan hope to take their autobiography to Broadway as it was announced Tuesday.
The couple along with the Nederlander Organization and Bernie Yuman will have the task to create a musical based on the Estefan’s life and hope to achieve their goal of launching it as a Broadway show.
“We are very excited to share this story, which is based on hope, determination and the belief that with hard work and passion, our dreams can become our reality. Our music has been a true reflection of who we are, where we came from and the journey that has brought us to where we are today,” Gloria and Emilio Estefan commented.
The Cuban born couple met in what they have been destined to do in the music industry. Emilio hired Gloria to sing in his group after they left Cuba; they married after falling in love and bore two children. They formed the Miami Sound Machine before Gloria became a soloist. It has been success in both markets alike – Spanish and English – winning numerous music awards, producers, being the backbone to many artists as Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Shakira and Marc Anthony to name a few. As business partners, they are part owners of Miami’s football team the Miami Dolphins and have several Bongos Cuban Cafes.
We hope to get a glimpse of the Estefan’s on Broadway down the road.
