J Balvin receives the Latin Impact Award for his contribution to mental health

Colombian artist J Balvin will receive this Thursday the Latin Impact Award 2022 for his contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in recognition of an application for mental health of which he is a co-founder.

This award, which will be presented tomorrow at the UN headquarters in New York at the Latino Impact Summit (an event to promote conversations about the SDGs in Latin America), will be awarded for his “contributions in making visible the importance of health and well-being in the region”, specifically through the OYE App.

J Balvin is the creator, along with Mario Chamorro, Patrick Dowd and Isaac Lee, of this application in Spanish and English that offers a space for people to transform their emotions into creative actions.

For this reason, it achieves “a balance between emotional health and physical health, through exercises that help release stress, fear, sadness and the burdens that each human being receives in their daily routines, to reconnect with their inner power. and create the life they want”, considered the Pvblic Foundation, which organizes the summit, in a statement.

Chamorro, executive director of the application, will participate in a talk on “Mental and emotional well-being for impact”, while Paula Durán, another of the OYE directors, will guide an experimental activation.

This is the fifth edition of this summit that has not been held since 2019, when the Impacto Latino Award was also awarded to another Colombian singer, Carlos Vives, for his organization “La perla de América”, with which he promotes the improvement of the quality of life in the city of Santa Marta and the region.
