Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull to highlight Billboard Music Awards


The 2014 Billboard Music Awards scheduled for Sunday, May 18 will include Latins representing music and special awards. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull will be the Latin highlights of the evening as announced today.

Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Billboard Icon Award for her lifetime achievements throughout her music career. She is the first women to receive such prestigious honor since the existence of the award four years ago joining past recipients Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince. Viewers and attendees will also witness two debut performances by Jennifer in a solo performance and a duo with Pitbull.

Jennifer’s solo debut on the Billboards will be “First Love,” her first single for her 10th album “AKA” which is set for release on June 17. During the live telecast, Pitbull will join Lopez with their debut performance of this year’s FIFA’s World Cup official anthem song, “We Are One (Ole Ola)”.

The pop and rap artist Pitbull is also nominated for Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Song “Timber”. Other Latins nominated are Bruno Mars with three nominations in the Top Artist, Top Male Artist and the Top Radio Songs Artist categories.

And in the Latin Billboard categories Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos and Prince Royce are nominated in the same three categories: Top Latin Artist nominated are Marc Anthony, Gerardo Ortiz, Jenni Rivera, Prince Royce and Romeo Santos; Top Latin Album are Marc Anthony for “3.0”, Alejandro Fernandez for “Confidencias”, Jenni Rivera for “1969- Siempre: En Vivo Desde Monterrey: Parte 1″, Prince Royce for “Soy El Mismo” and Romeo Santos for “Formula: Vol. 2; Top Latin Song are Marc Anthony “Vivir Mi Vida”, Daddy Yankee “Limbo”, Enrique Iglesias featuring Romeo Santos “Loco”, Prince Royce “Darte Un Beso” and Romeo Santos “Propuesta Indecente”.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18, on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. The additional Billboard Music Award nominees are available at
