Jon the Producer Make his Mark in Latin music with 6 2020 Latin GRAMMY Nominations

Hit-maker musician Jon the Producer continues to make his mark in Latin music with six 2020 Latin GRAMMY nominations.

The multi-Platinum musician is nominated for SONG OF THE YEAR twice, RECORD OF THE YEAR, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, BEST POP SONG, and BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM, for his work on Colombian singer Camilo’s breakthrough album Por Primera Vez. The album that topped Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart earlier this year features the songs “Tutu” and “El Mismo Aire,” for which Jon and Camilo are also nominated.

“Surreal to see how far generosity and love can take you,” says Jon about his six nominations. “Immensely grateful to even be in the conversation.”

These six nominations add to Jon’s GRAMMY nomination this year for Best Latin Pop Album and a previous Latin GRAMMY nomination. The news comes on the heels of his recent hit production, “Pa’ Ti,” that he worked on for pop superstar Jennifer Lopez and Colombian superstar Maluma. As reggaetón music takes the Latin market by storm, Jon as producer, engineer, and musician, has found a unique and bankable niche in blending that sound with fresh Latin pop.

Among Jon’s biggest productions are Becky G and Natti Natasha’s 13-times Platinum hit “Sin Pijama” and Thalía’s 4-times Platinum hit “No Me Acuerdo with Natti Natasha. Both music videos have over a billion views each on YouTube. His winning chemistry with Latin pop duo Mau y Ricky has also led to their 4-times Platinum hits like “Ya No Tiene Novio” and “La Boca.”

With Jon’s productions having over 5 billion hits on YouTube, over 3 billion streams on Spotify, and claiming multiple No. 1 spots on charts around the world, his music is helping globalize the Latin music market. These latest six Latin GRAMMY nominations further prove his growing impact and success in the genre as a producer.
