Juanes, one of today’s most influential Latin music artists in the world, will be launching a new monthly show on SiriusXM, the world’s largest radio broadcaster. Yo Soy Juanes is the name of this new program where the popular Colombian singer will be sharing his favorite music and personal insights about his career.
The first episode, which kicks off SiriusXM’s Hispanic Heritage Month programming, will air this coming September 16 on the Caliente 150 and La Kueva 540 commercial-free music channels. During that first show, Juanes will be talking about his early musical influences including traditional Colombian music and Heavy Metal.
Juanes expressed his joy about this upcoming project saying that he was happy to have a live forum where he can share with his fans all the music that has influenced his career. “I am excited to be joining the SiriusXM lineup and look forward to interacting with our listeners,” said Juanes. Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM, stated his company was thrilled to feature Juanes on SiriusXM’s first original show for the bilingual listener.
Professionally speaking, this has been an amazing year for Juanes. Besides his popular JUANES MTV Unplugged album, Juanes recently launched the bilingual YouTube channel 123UnoDosTres. In the meantime, he is preparing his worldwide tour while openly supporting different social causes. With the new radio program, he is already a strong candidate to become the Latin music artist of 2012.
