Karol G, who has become the most iconic artist in Latin music over the past decade, consolidates her place at the top as the leading female voice of the genre by not only achieving a sold out concert at the FTX Arena in Miami but also receiving a total of 15 certifications bestowed by Universal Music Latino executives, led by Jesus Lopez Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula and the RIAA. Among the many recognitions she received was a Diamond certification for her album ‘KG0516.’
The Colombian singer and composer received a total of 9 Platinum certifications including the one for the single “El Makinon” with 11X Platinum certifications and a total of 660,000 sold copies, as well as Platinum certifications for the singles “Contigo Voy a Muerte” and “Leyendas” which have 60,000 sold copies, a 3X Platinum certification for the single, “200 Copas,” which has more than 180,000 sold copies, “El Barco” certified 5X Platinum with more than 300,000 sold copies, “Location” certified 6X Platinum with more than 360,000 sold copies, “Ay Dios Mio” certified 15X Platinum and 900,000 sold copies, and the song, “Bichota” which achieved 20X Platinum certification with a total of 1,200,000 sold copies, closing on a high note with her single, “Tusa” which has 41X Platinum certification and over 2,460,000 copies sold.
Karol G also holds Gold certifications for her singles, “Sola es Mejor,” “Gato Malo,” “Odisea,” “DVD” and “Déjalos Que Miren” surpassing more than 30,000 sold copies with each single under the Universal Music Latino label.
She also received a Diamond certification for her album ‘KG0516’ by surpassing 660,000 units sold.
