SiriusXM premiers Karen Rodriguez’s brand new cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” entitled “Quiérete a Tí.”
Rodriguez tells SiriusXM, “When I first heard ‘Love Yourself,’ it instantly became one of my favorite Justin Bieber songs – I loved the story he told! Coincidentally, many of my Instagram followers requested that I cover it. After my Spanglish cover of “Hello,” my fans demanded full Spanish covers, so I began translating! I realized how beautiful it would sound completely in Spanish, and knew my fans would love it. The songs original melody and structure is completely intact, but I changed the narrators perspective to my own and tell my own story.”
The video for “Quiérete a Tí” was recorded at SiriusXM Studios in New York. In an exclusive interview with Vivia, SiriusXM channel 763, the American Idol finalist talks about the phenomenon that has been her Spanish interpretation of “Hello” by Adele – which has more than 8 million views on YouTube – and what it’s like composing with the King of Bachata, Romeo Santos.
