A show full of emotions and unforgettable moments, it was the beginning of the celebration of the 40 years of artistic career of Luis Vargas. The New York public sold out the capacity of the emblematic theater of the United Palace to join the artist, who precisely on March 19, 1982 took the first step of his career.
Luis Vargas, amidst applause, came up on stage excitedly hugging a Dominican flag before giving the first chords of his guitar. Several of his hits were chanted throughout the night by the audience for three hours. A download of love and heartbreak, with songs from different decades, presented with a special band directed by the outstanding producer Mártires de León.
During the show, El Rey Supremo de la Bachata had great guests such as: Alex Bueno, Judy Santos, Alcover, Anonimus, Jon Z, Kalimete, Mariachi Budda and Joel Insuperable.
The prominent guitarist Lenny Santos surprised Luis Vargas with a performance of the song “Loco de Amor” where the two faced each other in a guitar duel. Another important moment was the arrival of Luis Segura who shook the artist with his presence and was received by an audience that did not stop applauding this icon of bachata, together they performed the song “Pena” in front of a room completely standing, paying honor at the moment
When there were just a few minutes left to finish the show, Romeo Santos appeared in the middle of the public in a surprising way, who took the stage to express his love and admiration for the Supreme King. Romeo performed the song “Los Últimos” with Luis Vargas in the midst of thousands of flashes and cell phone recordings of all those present who could not believe what was happening. This was a true encounter for history.
With this show, Luis Vargas reaffirms his legacy and celebrates with his followers the only rhythm in the world that cries for love: bachata.
