Holidays are always a little stressful when it comes to the “what to wear” department, especially when invited to a corporate cocktail party or family get together. I’m here to help.
Personally years ago I was guilty for always being over-dressed or under-dressed. I have learned my lesson. As a woman when attending a holiday event, especially work related, it is important to relax on the glitter and skin. Leaving everything to the imagination is one of the first tips. Wear a lot of black, maroon and silver this holiday season. You can never go wrong with a long skirt with a nice blazer. Add a splash of silver in earrings or a clutch, but simplicity is key during this season.
I have a lot of tattoos and the first thing I was told to do upon being invited to a corporate event was to “cover them up”. Keep it classy. Make a great first impression.
Men… leave the sneakers at home. Seriously. During the holiday season we love to see the GQ, James Bond style come out. Slacks, nice shoes and a watch. Lately I’ve been obsessed with watches. Those athletic bands and balance bracelets you wear “everyday” can stay in the car for a few hours. Impress your bosses and your family members.
Your smile is your best feature. Have a great holiday season!
