Rihanna: “I’m not ready to release new music”

The Barbadian artist has shut the door on rumors suggesting she is about to release new material. Last month, the superstar released a song titled Lift Me Up, which was included on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. The song marked Rihanna’s first new single as a lead artist since 2016.

Despite the excitement from fans, the Umbrella hitmaker has insisted that she is not working on any other songs at the moment. “The Super Bowl is one thing, new music is another,” said the artist. In September, Rihanna announced that she will headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in February, but that doesn’t mean it comes with new songs.

“I can’t believe she accepted the Super Bowl offer. It was one of those things that, even when I announced it, I was like, ‘Okay, I can’t take it back. «The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, being there is the dream of any artist. However, it’s stressful, everyone is watching and I want to do well.”
