The bilingual entertainment channel Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más, has just announced Romeo Santos, the popular Bachata singer, is this year’s winner of the Tr3s Best Latino Artist Award. The trophy, which is part of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, gives Romeo Santos valuable extra points to become this year’s most influential Latin music artist.
For this award, Romeo Santos was running against giants of the Latin music world including Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes and Wisin y Yandel. After the announcement, Romeo Santos expressed his joy and thanked all his fans for casting their votes on his behalf with the following words: “It felt great just being nominated alongside these huge Latin crossover artists and winning leaves me speechless. I owe it to all the fans for voting. Thank you, what a blessing!!”.
