Snoop Dogg and BTS collab on a powerful new single!

It seems that the collaboration between Snoop Dogg and BTS, which until now had only been rumored; has been confirmed by the hip-hop mogul himself. During the red carpet of the American Song Contest on Monday, the legendary rapper revealed that a collaboration between him and global sensation BTS is officially in the works. Snoop told The A.V. Club:

“The BTS experience that is talked about so much. I’m going to let them tell you. It’s about as official as a referee with a whistle. I love that world of entertainment. Is good music. It is [an] environment. I make good music. They make good music. And we ended up doing this. This is always about uniting our worlds.”

In January, Snoop Dogg revealed on the Mogul Talk podcast that he had received a request from global sensation K-pop artists BTS to do a collaboration together.

At the time, Snoop was unaware of how huge the South Korean group is and had to ask his nephew for more information about them. “He showed me five mother *****  who look like Asian New Editions,” Snoop said. “I said okay.”

Actually, Snoop is no stranger to the world of K-pop at all. He previously worked with girl groups Girls Generation and 2NE1, and was featured in Psy’s song “Hangover” in 2014.

As for BTS, they have been fans of the American rapper for many years and even referenced Snoop’s 1993 album ‘Doggystyle’ in the song “Hip Hop Phile” from his 2014 album ‘Dark & Wild’. Back in 2015, BTS leader RM even worked with frequent Snoop collaborator and fellow rapper Warren G on a single called “PDD.”

For his part, Suga revealed in an interview with BBC Radio 1 last year that they will have more hip hop tracks on future albums, and that fans shouldn’t expect too much. The Grammy-nominated group is set to release a new album this year, according to their label, BigHit Music. His latest full album ‘BE‘ was released in November 2020, so fans have been patiently waiting for any news about new music.

Hopefully, with BTS set to return to the United States next month for The Grammys and four sold-out concerts in Las Vegas, more information on that will be revealed.
