The outstanding talent of Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo does not stop shining. And it is that today they achieved three nominations in the Twenty-first Edition of the Latin GRAMMY Awards.
This year the talent of Colombian producers proved once again that they are capable of developing pieces for a wide variety of artists, and that their creativity transcends the barriers of genres and musical styles. For this reason, they were nominated in the category of ‘Producer of the Year’ for their work on the following topics: “A Donde Vamos” (Morat), “Cartagena” (Fonseca & Silvestre Dangond), “Colegio” (Cali and El Dandee) , “Missing Love” (Sebastián Yatra & Ricky Martin), “Girasoles” (Luis Fonsi), “Infinito” (Andrés Cepeda & Jesse and Joy), “+” (Aitana & Cali and El Dandee), “My Other Half” (Manuel Medrano), “Minifalda” (Greeicy & Juanes), “Losing Your Head” (Carlos Rivera, Becky G & Pedro Capó), “Recuerdo” (Tini, Mau and Ricky), “Runaway” (Sebastián Yatra, Daddy Yankee , Natti Natasha & Jonas Brothers), “TBT” (Sebastián Yatra, Rauw Alejandro & Manuel Turizo).
In addition, the renowned duo of producers and composers obtained nominations in the categories of ‘Song Of The Year’ and ‘Best Pop Song’ for the song “Bonita”, by Juanes (ft. Sebastián Yatra), winner of multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY awards, who without discussion continues at the peak of his career.
This year marks the fourth time that Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo have received Latin GRAMMY nominations. In 2017, the producers were the Latin GRAMMY winners for ‘Record of the Year’ for their work as producers and recording engineers of the worldwide hit “Despacito”. In 2018, they earned four Latin GRAMMY nominations in the categories of ‘Producer of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, and ‘Best Tropical Song’ (2x), as well as a GRAMMY nomination for ‘Record of the Year’, plus they won the Latin Billboard award for ‘Producer of the Year’. In 2019, they achieved six Latin GRAMMY nominations: “Producer of the Year,” “Record of the Year” (2x), “Album of the Year” (2x), and “Song of the Year.” With great successes in their professional careers, it was to be expected that the synergy of these two young talents will continue to bear fruit. Not only have they worked with the greatest exponents of Latin music, they have also collaborated with stars of global stature such as Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers, among others.
The 21st edition of the Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on November 19, 2020 virtually from Miami and will feature presentations from other cities around the world. The ceremony will be broadcast on Univision and will have the theme “Music Makes Us Human”, with which it promises to bring hope to the audience, while at the same time creating a space to celebrate Latin music.
