Billboard is proud to announce today that the Grammy Award-winning duo, Wisin & Yandel, the most successful Latin urban group in history, will host a question and answer session this year on “The Billboard Latin Music Conference” at Las Vegas during the week of April 22-25.
Together again, after a hiatus of five years, Wisin and Yandel are still the only duo in the genre of urban music that sell the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York, masterfully fusing musical genres accompanied by a band of 10 musicians, eight dancers and avant-garde audiovisuals. His first single together in almost six years, “Reggaeton in the Dark”, became his eleventh single as a duo to reach the first place in the Billboard charts “Latin Airplay” and cumulatively his thirty-fifth number one.
“Wisin & Yandel are some of the most iconic artists and composers in the world of Latin music, with an amazing career that encompasses solo releases, countless accolades and, more recently, their first single as a duo in 6 years,” says Jorge Mejia , President, Latin America and the United States, Sony / ATV Music Publishing. “We could not be happier to count them as part of our Sony / ATV family and, now, as our featured artists on the Sony / ATV Iconic Songwriter panel at the Billboard Latin Music Conference!”
“Wisin and Yandel simply headed the summary of the Billboard tour and broke records with their recent series of sold-out shows in Puerto Rico, and now they will talk together, for the first time, about how they have created their legendary and current successes, which have shaped (and they continue to shape) the history of reggaetón, “says Leila Cobo, vice president and Latin industry of Billboard.
Now in its twenty-ninth year, Latin Music Week presents sessions and panels of Questions and Answers, including its signature “Questions and Answers of the Star”, as well as panels that focus on “streamings”, videos, both Latin collaborations as of the general market, and more. Latin Music Week 2019 will include the return of the outstanding Panel of Women, which became a catalyst for change in the Latino industry in 2018, as well as a panel entitled “Machismo and Feminism,” which will analyze contemporary Mexican regional music . Wisin and Yandel join the previously announced Trap star, Anuel AA, as the protagonists of this year’s conference. Additional panelists and new sessions will be announced in the coming weeks.
Registration for the conference will give attendees access to three days of panels, individual sessions and showcases, as well as tickets to the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on Telemundo on April 25. .
