When Daddy Yankee announced his retirement from music, reggaeton fans raised their hands to their heads. How were we going to be able to live without new songs from the king of the genre? But others were convinced that it was not going to be so easy for the Puerto Rican to detach himself from what he has always been passionate about.
They were right, since now he has joined Myke Towers in a new song that has already become the king of the playlists of thousands and thousands of people. It’s about Ulala, a reggaeton song with touches of dancehall that has the most catchy lyrics. Its title refers to the mythical French expression Oh là là.
The track was written by Myke and Daddy, teaming up for the third time in their careers, and produced by Play-N-Skillz. It was recorded in San Juan, Puerto Rico, while its video clip was shot on the beaches of Miami Beach, taking us directly to summer.
“Ulala was a unique experience because it is the first song of mine in which Daddy Yankee collaborates and also my first time working with Play-N-Skillz. The intention was to create a global song and nobody was better than the great Daddy Yankee to achieve it” , declares Myke Towers.
“In the Legendaddy recording period, the concept for the Ulala song was born. I was putting the finishing touches on it in the studio, I had to deliver the album and Play-N-Skillz pitched me the idea to do it with Myke Towers. And that’s where the song was born and Myke stuck with it. Great job!!”, adds Daddy.
The release of Ulala has been very well received by fans of both artists. And it is that in just a few hours, his video is about to reach half a million views.
And you, have you heard Ulala yet? What do you think?
