It was another night of festivities, music, celebs, fashion and awards at the second annual Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo Thursday night where Eva Longoria received an award for her extensive accomplishments.
The American born beauty of Mexican descent who admits her Spanish isn’t good received the first ALMA de Tu Mundo award created this year by Telemundo and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) to recognize an artist who helps the Latin community in our society by engaging in humanitarian work and foundations. Eva Longoria one of the most successful Hollywood actress’ is most deserving of such a distinguished award and recognition. As through the years, she founded Eva’s Heroes, is the national spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cancer; supports the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, OmniPeace, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is also involved in many organizations on behalf of the Latino community to help ensure a better future for Hispanic families through voting, education, civic engagement and entrepreneurship.
After receiving the ALMA de Tu Mundo award, Eva Longoria stated:
It’s my first time getting an award on Telemundo, when I am talking in Spanish I am afraid since Spanish is not my first language. But it’s an honor for me to receive this because I am working a lot with the Latin community and my foundation. I created the Eva Longoria Foundation to help Latinos. I am doing a lot of programs for Latinos that want to go to college, universities and also a program for females that want to start a business.
Eva Longoria also applauds her fellow Latino artists with their crossovers and dedication in music.
