J Balvin, the Colombian urban act who became the breakout Latin story of 2014, will headline a panel during the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Conference. Balvin will join other urban music acts who’ve made memorable impacts in this year’s charts during the “New Latin Urban Movement” panel as part of the conference, taking place April 27-29 at the Ritz Carlton Miami Beach.
Balvin’s success — he’s notched two No. 1s on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm and Latin Airplay charts in the past year and toured with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull — has triggered a wave of interest in a new generation of urban acts who have gained considerable chart success in the past year. “It’s a new school,” said Balvin, whose hits include party anthem “6 a.m.”(feat. Farruko) and “Ay Vamos,” currently at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.
The Billboard Latin Music Conference culminates with the Billboard Latin Music Awards, airing live on Telemundo April 30.
