Jennifer Lopez remembers her tribute to Celia Cruz at the American Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez took advantage of tbt Thursday (Throwback Thursday, in English) to remember one of her most iconic performances. The one she performed at the American Music Awards in 2013 in tribute to the Queen of Salsa, Cuban singer Celia Cruz.

The Diva from the Bronx was one of the great protagonists of that award ceremony that was held in Los Angeles and in which she paid tribute to the legendary Cuban artist singing “Quimbara”, “Life is a Carnival” and “Bemba Colorá “. An impressive performance in which she brought out her Latin blood and power to win all the applause.

Almost ten years after that magical evening, JLo wanted to remember that special tribute in which she had several costumes and gave everything on stage.

“Long live Celia!” Shouted the multifaceted artist born in New York and of Puerto Rican origins at the end of the impressive performance, which ended with the audience standing up and surrendering to her.

“One of your best shows”, “My God, I remember seeing this, I loved it”, “I really love this performance” or “One of your favorite performances ever! And you have a handful of great performances”, are some of the comments left by his followers when they saw this vibrant show again.

Cuban singer Celia Cruz passed away in July 2003 in New Jersey, and almost twenty years later she continues to be an inspiration to many artists and her songs continue to be heard all over the world.
