Since last June, the world of music has been waiting for the possible collaboration between the Colombian artist Maluma and the vocalist of the Maroon 5 group, Adam Levine. In the last few hours, the union between the two singers became a reality, as both published a short video on their respective social networks as a preview of their new song together.
‘Ojalá’, that’s the name of the song in which the two artists collaborate with The Rudeboyz, an urban duo that was born in Medellín. Through a video of just a few seconds, the four artists showed the fans a little of what will be seen in the song that will be available on all platforms on October 20.
It should be noted that although Maluma and Adam Levine are great references on the world music scene, this song is the launch of the country producers that make up The Rudeboyz as artists. Bryan Lezcano Chaverra ‘Chan El Genio’ and Kevin Mauricio Jiménez Londoño ‘Kevin ADG’ had previously worked with Maluma in the production of musical hits such as ‘Hawaii’, ‘Felices los 4’, ‘Borró Cassette’ and ‘Blackmail’, but now they wanted to make him a part of this new beginning for them.

Officially, the pre-release of this song was done at Casa Medallo, the space created by Spotify in Medellín, in the last few hours. Until then, The Rudeboyz were invited to speak on a panel about their transition from production to singing their own songs, in addition to their beginning with Maluma and Adam Levine. In the middle of that conversation in the capital of Antioquia, the producers showed the preview of ‘Ojalá’.
In that panel, Lezcano and Jiménez revealed that in order to achieve this wonderful collaboration, what they did was contact Adam Levine’s collaborator, J Kash, who together with Maroon 5 vocalist The Rudeboyz and Lex Borrero created what is now going to be known as ‘ I wish’. Later they invited the paisa idol, Juan Luis Londoño to join this idea.
‘I hope that when he does it to you, you think of me. I hope it’s my name that you want to repeat and I hope the same thing happens to me, I hope I never forget you’, is what Maluma and Adam Levine sing in the preview published on social networks, the first time that fans of the American they listen singing in Spanish.
It should be remembered that on June 25, both singers published the same image – which was captured in what appears to be a recording studio – from their respective social networks, but with different messages. For one thing, Levine wrote in the caption: “The world is not ready.” Seeing among the comments, Maluma’s words also stand out, who wrote: “Let’s get it”, followed by a fire emoticon.
However, the Maroon 5 vocalist not only posted said photo on his Instagram profile, but also went to InstaStories and posted it there, but this time he wrote about it: “Everything is happening.”
Regarding Maluma, the urban singer shared his portrait with the American with the following words: “Keep this photo.” In the same way as Adam Levine, he also replied in his Instagram stories: “Pa’ la history”, were his words, that is, “pa’ la historia”.
The song that will finally be released on October 20 will be published along with its official video, which was directed by Diane Martel through the talent incubator NEON16 -created by The Rudeboyz– and Sony Music Latin.
