After keeping a low profile for several months, the Spanish pop-rock singer-songwriter Melendi returns to liven up vacation season with his energetic, positive single “La Boca Junta”, a duet with the multi-Platinum Venezuelan urban-pop duo Mau y Ricky.
The video concept for “La Boca Junta” is also a lot of fun – a videogame where the three singers must overcome obstacles as they navigate spectacular scenery designed with the Unreal Engine, which powers some of the world’s most popular videogames. This true work of art is directed by the Argentine talent Fernando Ronchese. The video also stars the sister duo Julia and Livia Nakamatsu, with the villain being portrayed by the Mexican comedian and YouTuber Slobotzky.
The music of “La Boca Junta” finds Melendi at his most playful and radiant, on a song that will be in heavy rotation on summer playlists throughout Spain and Latin America. It is also the first preview of his upcoming album Likes y Cicatrices, which he announced just days ago on his social-media channels. This will be his first album since the November 2019 release of 10:20:40, which debuted at #1 on Spain’s sales charts.
Mau y Ricky are the perfect collaborators for such a danceable track. Consisting of the brothers Mau and Ricky Montaner, this duo has delighted Latin music fans with such multi-Platinum hits as “Desconocidos” with Manuel Turizo and Camilo, and “Mi Mala Remix” with Karol G, Becky G, Leslie Grace and Lali. In addition, the brothers are acclaimed songwriters, responsible for chart-toppers such as “Vente Pa’Ca” by Ricky Martin and Maluma, “Sin Pijama” by Becky G and Natti Natasha, and “Pa’ Llamar Tu Atención” by C. Tangana.
