2x Grammy Award winning Producers/Writers/DJ’s Play-N-Skillz are brothers of Argentinean and Venezuelan descent from Dallas, Texas; Juan “Play” Salinas and younger brother Oscar “Skillz” Salinas. While attending Irving High School, Play-N- Skillz began to pursue a childhood passion of DJing, starting in their bedroom at home and eventually the school parties. After becoming well known in the Dallas area as DJ’s, Play-N Skillz, built a temporary studio in their mothers bathroom and began to explore music production.

In the early 2003 a chance meeting with Houston Rapper Lil Flip opened the door for Play-NSkillz to produce the majority of his highly anticipated release “U Gotta Feel Me.” Their newfound success and notoriety led to the 2005 debut album ‘The Process’ which included the hit single “Freaks” feat. Adina Howard and Krazie Bone. The albums third single “Call Me” featured Texas Rapper Chamillionare with whom Play-N Skillz would soon collaborate with again producing his hit single “Ridin (Dirty).” This was the first of 2 Grammy award winning productions for the Salinas Brothers, nabbing Best Rap Collaboration by a Group or Duo, their first #1 record across Hip Hop and Pop Charts and broke many records along the way including being the #1 selling ringtone of all time to that point.

Only 2 years later Play-N-Skillz would work with one of the biggest artists in the world, Lil Wayne to create a song for his world-renowned album The Carter III, which sold over 1 million copies in the first week. “Got Money” featuring T-Pain soared to the top of the charts in hiphop and pop, was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, and Album of the Year. Lil Wayne took the Grammy for Best Rap Album and Play-N-Skillz were sonically certified by the music industry. By 2011, Play-N-Skillz wanted to find a way to bring their hip-hop sound to the EDM scene, and crossed paths with David Guetta, who also saw a similar need. Together, they co-wrote and arranged his music to fit pop world that was saturated in hip-hop sound, leading to the multiplatinum hit “Where Them Girls At” featuring Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida.

In 2016, the DJ duo signed with Latium Records / Sony Latin and released the smash ‘No Es Ilegal – Not a Crime,’ a collaboration with Daddy Yankee. The track peaked at #7 on Bilboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales and No. 21 on Hot Latin Songs. They followed the success with ‘Si Una Vez,” a collaboration with Frankie J, Wisin, and Leslie Grace. The song has already begun storming the charts, breaking in Texas and with major support from Sirius XM.

Play-N-Skillz have continued to establish themselves in the music scene, and have been in the studio recently with Wisin, Becky G, De La Getto, Leslie Grace, Lil Jon, Yandel, Genta de Zona, and more.
