Sony Music Latin explodes with first hits of the summer


Led by Carlos Vives, Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Camila and Sonus, the leading Latin music label has a lineup poised to dominate the summer charts

With summer fast approaching, Sony Music Latin has knocked off the cold of winter with the release of a number of “hot” hits from some of Latin Music’s biggest stars and is a verifiable “who’s who” of the genre.

Latin Music icon Carlos Vives announced his new album, “Mas + Corazon Profundo” late last month. Fresh off one the most successful comebacks in music history, the album features the smash hit, “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar” with fellow superstar Marc Anthony, and took the top spot on iTunes Colombia less than an hour after its release.

“Mas + Corazon Profundo” is now available in stores and online on iTunes, Amazon and all other digital platforms.

After a four-year absence, Puerto Rican pop idol, Chayanne, unveiled his latest single “Humanos A Marte” at last month’s Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Already one of the most popular artists in the record industry, the Puerto Rican singer, actor and composer has had 28 songs on the Top 10 List of “Hot Latin Songs,” and four number ones on the Top Albums Chart. His highly anticipated 24th album will debut later this summer.

As another Latin music sensation coming off hiatus, the superstar duo Camila has given fans the hit single “Decidiste Dejarme,” and an accompanying video, to hold them over until their next album debuts June 3.

Directed by Jeff Nicholas and Jonathan Craven, the video for the hit song takes viewers from peaceful black and white photography to the fury of the group’s guitars, vocals, piano and drums.

Already a Top five hit on the international radio charts, “Decidiste Dejarme” is the first single off the group’s upcoming album, “Elypse.”

With the summer primed to feature established acts releasing highly anticipated albums, Sony Music Latin is also preparing to unleash a new brand of superstar on the world.

Newcomer Sonus has released its new single, “She Likes It Like That,” simultaneously in the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Central America. The Dr. Luke (Rihanna, Katy Perry, Flo Rida and Miley Cyrus) produced track was also released in its Spanish version as “Me Gustas Así.”

The video for their hit new single will be released worldwide next week.

As a result of their early success, the group has been invited to participate on the South American tours of international acts such as Justin Bieber, The Jonas Brothers and One Direction.
